G’day Folks

This time, we’re off to the north eastern most parts of Argentina. Where Argentina borders with Brazil on the Iguazu River and also a glimpse of Paraguay. The reason, to view the famed Iguazu Falls the worlds widest water falls.

We anticipated we would spend maybe 15mins watching water fall over the edge of a cliff, it ended up being a day long adventure on the Argentinian side of the falls thanks to the spectacular boardwalks that take you close to the edge and right up close to the falls. Plus the mesmerizing nature of the falls. This is our day…

Please note there are lots of photo’s so it may take a while to load. Oh and you can click the photo’s for bigger images.

We stayed in Hotel Marco Polo Suites – clean comfortable, average breakfast, friendly staff and good service.

After a 30min bus ride to the National Park and hen a brief walk through the entrance gates, you are greeted with a cute small train ride to the start of the boardwalks:

The boardwalks are brilliant they take you right up close and personal with the falls.

The wildlife are very friendly in these parts, at least with themselves. A kiwi bloke walked past us whilst this picture was taken and said “Look he’s playing with his nuts right in front of us. He must of known you blokes were Aussies.” Ha! Look at that they do have a sense of humour.

Some lizards

There were crazy amounts of butterflies during the walk:

Ok, right at the end of the bottom trail you can walk right up too the falls within 5metres. Mind you, you get drenched but on such a spectacular day who cares:

“Yes and as you see here the rock formations over several thousands of years..” doing my best tourist guide impression:

After some lunch and a long walk back up the hill to dry off we ventured over to Devils Throat:

Wake up. Time for some adventure. Today we’re off to do some abseiling, trekking, tree fern watching and canoping, albeit quite lame versions of all of them.
